Week 4

 

Its the fourth week of internship. I started off the week by doing Media Follow Up phone calls. The purpose of making these phone calls is that as a Public Relation company, one of our job is to help our client to find free publicity in the newspaper. We called up a list of newspaper publication that we had sent emails to and asked them whether they would like to publish our clients' news free of charge. Even though it is just making calls, there are also quite a few problem that i faced. I was told that no matter how rude the person is on the opposite of the phone, I still have to continue the conversation normally and  e patient with them. At the end of the task, i actually realise I'm able to be more patient eventhough talking to the ones that I dont like. I made for phone for almost a week until it is finally done. Then I've learn something new too. I was asked to do some media drop off to newsapaper publication for SCS butter. Media drop off is where SCS butter (our client), prepare boxes of pineapple tarts made using SCS butter and our job is to send the boxes of pineapple tarts to a list of newspaper publication. It was a fun journey because I actually get to see how is the work place of quite a few big newspaper publication like The Star, China Press, Sinchew and more.
