Reflective Writing

 

                  I was assigned to write a reflective writing after completing the group assignment of English and Microeconomics. The group assignment that we are assigned to is to make a drama that entitled '' How Do Consumers React When Price Change? ''. As always, doing group assignments is one of the best ways to test our team work and the attitude of everyone while doing a task. because when a group of people that are doing the same task, have opinions of their own and problems will easily occur. Not to mention, this group assign ment is including the whole Diploma in Business Section 3, that is around 22 people is a group.

 

                  My English lecturer and Microeconomics lecturer, Mr.Chandra and Miss Rabi'ah have assigned us with the assignment one month before the due date. But as most the student, me and my section love to do last minute work. Only until two weeks before the due date only me and my section starts our work. Our class rep, John Yeo, he started to arrange all the time and started to put all of us into teams. The script team, Props team, and Sound and lighting team. John as our class rep will definately be taking the role of the director. I, however is put into the script team. I'm a very lazy person so putting me into the script team gives me a lot of pressure because the script in a drama is the most important thing we need. But luckily there is also a few other friends that are in the script team too.

 

                   At the start, all of us are just slacking around and all of us are lazy to work on the script. But as soon as time is running out, i started to get panic about not getting the scirpt done, so i tried to do the script by my own and it didn't really work out, i ran out of idea in no time. Luckily John have call me and the rest of the script to have a brainstorm session to complete the script. Me and my team work on the script almost everyday so that we can finihs up the script as soon as possible. As usual, arguments will easily occur while we are doing group assignment. But we manage to work everything out and not wasting time arguing and try to finish up our work qucikly. Using around a weeks time, the script is done.

 

                 As soon as the script is done, all the other teams start to work on their part. Because of the due date getting closer and closer, everyone look determined to complete the drama.Everyday after class, me and my whole section will stay back at school to rehearse for the drama. We keep making mistakes while we are rehearsing but we didnt give up and we keep on practicing until we get it right. Eventhough we have our rehearsal until 8pm-9pm, nobody is complaining about tired and wanted to go home. Everyone is actually enjoying their time doing the rehearsal together because there are many funny things going around when we rehearse and also everyone doesnt want to stop until we finish the drama until perfection.

 

                Drama Presentation day, everyone got nervous because we got a news from Mr. Chandra that  all of our props had been disposed by the cleaner of the lecture hall. Everyone was panicking and did not know what to do. At that moment, John steps in and told us not to be nervous and should just do what we need to. So, without further a due, the props team quickly try to rebuuld all the props that we need and me and others team work on our lines for the drama. I cant believe it, we actually manage to pull it off and fix everything before we have to present that night. Everyone feel so nervous because we are about to perform the drama that we work our hearts off the whole week.

 

               Turn out, our drama are successful and me and my section did our very best. Everyone perform perfectly on stage. We are very satisfied in ourselves. But unfortunately, we didnt get the first prize but at least we got first runner-up. Not one of us feel sad because we know that we did our best and there is nothing to feel sad about but to feel proud of ourselves. Throughout this group assignement, i get to know more about my section's mates and i get to know how is their attitude during handling critical situation. I am very happy that i was put into DIB section 3 and get to have  chance to work with them. Team work is no longer a problem that will ever occur in my section after going through this assignment, Our relationship towards each other also turn better and also becamse close to each other.
