Preparation for the Internship

 

I am undergoing Diploma In Business at Taylor's University Lakeside Campus. It is my 5th sem now, and my 5th sem for my course is actually to go on an internship for 3 months. The purpose of the internship is for us to experience how is it like to get out of the comfort zone and try facing people in the real world. Taylor's helped us a lot for the preparation of our internship. Talks from the lecturer in school, or even inviting speakers or expert from another place to give us advice on how to go on our internship successfully. Without them, I think all of us will not have a clue on how to start our internship. Taylor's also offered us a choice between University Placement or Own Placement, for the internship. I chosed University Placement because there are a lot of companys that the school has provide for us to choose. After going through the whole list. Me and my friend decided to choose Orchan Consulting Asia. It is a PR Agency. I did some research and found out that the company had run for 5 years and two of the founders, Craig Selby and Farrell Tan are both experts in what they do. So i sent my resume in to Orchan, hopefully they will arrange an interview with them. I waited for a few weeks and finally got a reply from Craig and I was arrange to meet up with him in the office for an interview. It was quite exciting as this is my first ever job interview. On the interview day itself, I dress appropriately for my interview. It can give a good a first impression for the boss and also as a respect of the company. Throughout the whole interview, i feel that I did my best even though I got nervous in between sometime of the interview, but luckily at the end of the interview, I got accepted into the company for my internship. Soon, Craig send me an offer letter for me for the requirement for Taylor's, as a prove that I was accepted into the company to undergo my internship for 3 months. And this is the preparation that I have to do prior to my internship.
